Since 2014, the Festival International du Film d'Aubagne has been working collaboratively on the development of this international master’s programme dedicated to composers for screen. InMICS is the outcome of a fruitful partnership launched in 2014 gathering 4 of European and Canadian higher art education institutes and professional organizations in the field of audiovisual creation. It is ready to open its doors to the first student group composed of 13 international students with various backgrounds and profiles at Autumn term 2018.
InMICS has been developed to teach students how to manage the entire process of music creation for audiovisual media, from composing and recording the music to finding the right words to talk about visual art, as well as mixing the music and promoting their own work.
InMICS offers the students an international and professional learning environment, entailing a great diversity of aesthetics, cultures and teaching methods, the sharing of optimal practices and the exploration of innovative practices and tools.
The study is for two years, at two of the four partner institutes. Each of the participating schools offers a specific teaching environment and a different teaching approach to composition for visual media, with a specific focus on the medium and professional perspectives.
InMICS students receive a double Master’s degree at the end of the 2 years.
The selection of the next student group will be in 2020.
This project was funded with support from the Erasmus+ programme 2014-2017
